How to Fit Day & Night Blinds – Step by Step
Step 1
Bracket Positioning
Outside Recess
If the blind is to be fitted outside the window ensure that measurement C is the same. Follow instructions for face fixing to calculate C (A-B)/2.
Inside Recess
When installing inside the recess, brackets can either be top-fixed to the lintel or face-fixed onto the window frame.
Bracket Options
Unpack the blind and brackets carefully. Cassette blinds are normally supplied with top-fix brackets unless alternative options were selected when ordering.
Important: Position the brackets far enough away from handles or any other obstructions so the blind can raise and lower without interference.
Step 2
Fixing the Brackets
For blinds up to 1 metre wide, install two brackets roughly 75 mm from each end (fig.1). Wider blinds require additional support brackets which should be spaced evenly across between these. Bracket quantities:
Release Lip
Ensure the release lip on each bracket faces toward the back of the blind.
Mark screw hole positions before drilling and use wall plugs where needed. Fix each bracket using two screws and check they are level. Confirm the blind will clear obstacles such as window or door handles when lowered.
Step 3
Fitting the Cassette
After the brackets are fixed, lift the blind into position and align it with the brackets./p>
Step 4
Locking the Cassette in Place
Tilt the cassette slightly away from you, hook the front edge into the bracket, then push upward until the rear clicks securely into place.
Step 5
Securing the Safety Device
The chain safety device should be fitted as far from the control mechanism as possible to keep the chain under proper tension and prevent it from becoming slack.
Hold the device against the wall, mark the screw hole locations. Drill using an appropriate bit, then screw it securely in place while ensuring the chain remains taut.
Maintenance
