Contrast tapes are one of the fresher trends in blinds, and this stunning example from Editions is one of our most popular. Brilliant white slats have a contemporary feel and a crisp tone that matches well with modern UPVC window frames, while the dark slate ribbons stand out vividly as well as concealing the internal cords of the blind. Match the ribbons with dark furniture or accessories to give your interior a coordinated look.
Fixing & Controls
Multi-directional brackets are supplied which can be face fixed or top-fixed to the wall or inside the window recess. Screws and wall plugs are not supplied as we don’t know what surface you are installing onto. Please ensure you use the correct fitting for your blinds. Please note that the length of the cords on the blinds will be half the length of the total drop of the blind.
Number of Tapes
Our wooden and faux wood blinds come with 25mm wide tapes on 50mm wide slats. As the blinds get wider, the tape quantity increases to prevent the slats from bowing when installed.
The amount of tapes that comes with the blind is determined on sizing of width. Please see below:
- Blind Width 350mm-600mm = 2 Tapes
- Blind Width 601mm-900mm = 3 Tapes
- Blind Width 901mm-1300mm = 4 Tapes
- Blind Width 1301mm-1500mm = 5 Tapes
- Blind Width 1501mm-1800mm = 6 Tapes
- Blind Width 1801mm-2100mm = 7 Tapes
- Blind Width 2101mm-2400mm = 8 Tapes
- Blind Width 2401mm-2600mm = 9 Tapes
Valance
Wood blinds are supplied with a matching valance. Recess size blinds will be made to the width of the measurement provided to fit neatly inside the recess. The valance on exact size blinds (usually chosen when installing outside of the recess) will be made wider with a return on each end to hide the brackets.
Headrail
Our wooden and faux wood blinds come with a sturdy, colour-coded headrail to match the colour of your slats. The dimensions for 50mm slat, the headrail is 42mm high x 59mm deep.
Stack Height
Our wooden and faux wood blinds when fully raised will take up space in the top of your window. This depends on the total length of the blind. As a guide, we have the following stack heights. 150cm long blind = 25cm when raised. 200cm long blind = 31cm when raised. This is from the top of the headrail to the underside of the bottom bar when fully raised.

Returns
Our products fall under the definition of custom-made. Products can only be returned if they are faulty. Ensure you’re happy with the measurements you provide. Once your order has been placed we are unable to amend the sizes on your order.
Manufacturing Tolerance & Weight
Blinds are made within a 4mm manufacturer tolerance on both the width and drop of the blind. Blinds over 200cm wide will be heavy due to the weight of the slats, we recommend splitting them into two blinds.
Child Safe
Our blinds are child safe by design and come with the relevant child safety clips to tie cords back and away from the reach of children that must be installed.
Please Note
This blind type is not suitable for conservatories due to the high temperatures they can reach in the summer months which can result in the slats warping.
